« C'est la miséricorde que je veux, et non le sacrifice! » (Hos 6:6; Math 9 :13)
Avec ces mots, l'évêque de Rome, Francesco a commencé son discours à l'occasion du Carême 2016, en disant: «Dans la bulle d'indiction du Jubilé, j'ai demandé à ce que " le carême du Jubilé soit plus intensément vécu cette année comme moment fort pour célébrer et faire l'expérience de la miséricordie de Dieu "(MisericordiaeVultus, 17). » Il a ajouté que «La miséricorde de Dieu est en fait une annonce au monde: mais chaque chrétien est appelé à en faire l'expérience personnelle. »

إِنَّما أُريدُ الرَّحمَةَ لا الذَّبيحَة (هوشع ٦/٦؛ مت ٩/ ١٣)
استهل أسقف روما فرنسيس حديثه في مناسبة الصوم الأربعيني ٢٠١٦ بهذه العبارة قائلاً: »في براءة سنة اليوبيل، توجّهتُ بدعوة لنعيش زمن الصوم في هذه السنة اليوبيلية بزخم أكبر كفرصة ملائمة للاحتفال برحمة الله واختبارها» (وجه الرحمة، رقم 17). وأضاف أن «رحمة الرب هي بالحقيقة بشرى للعالم: وكل مسيحي مدعوّ لأن يختبر هو أولاً هذه البشرى«.

“I will have mercy and not sacrifice!” (Hosea 6, 6; Matthew 9.13)
With these words, the Bishop of Rome, Francis, began his discourse on the occasion of Lent 2016, saying: “In the bull of indiction of the Jubilee, I gave out this invitation so that Lent in this Jubilee year might be lived more internally as a strong moment to celebrate and experience the mercy of God.” (Misericordiae Vultus, 17). He went on to add that “the mercy of God is in fact an announcement to the world: but every Christian is called upon to make experience of this mercy in the first person.”
