Liebe Freunde,
Vielen Dank noch einmal für den herzlichen Empfang durch die schweizerischen und italienischen Mitglieder der Vereine der Freunde unserer monastischen Gemeinschaft. Es hat mir gut getan, Eure Nähe zu spüren. Danke auch für die vielen Beweise der Solidarität, die Ihr uns in diesen aufgewühlten Zeiten im Nahen Ostens gegeben habt. Die Statistiken über die Nutzung unserer Internetseite und unsere "Inbox" sagen uns, dass Ihr unser Wirken aufmerksam verfolgt. Danke! Der Nahe Osten, und speziell Syrien, braucht viel Fürbitte und Solidarität. Wir beobachten eine stetige Steigerung der Gewalt, während wir nicht aufgeben, mit all unserer Energie zur Gewaltlosigkeit und zur Versöhnung aufzurufen.

Chers amis,
Merci encore de l’accueil que j’ai reçu cet automne de la part des amis suisses et italiens des associations d’amis de notre Communauté monastique. Cela m’a fait du bien de vous sentir si proches. Merci aussi pour les nombreuses expressions de solidarité avec nous en cette période de turbulences que traverse le Moyen-Orient. Les statistiques sur la fréquentation de notre site et nos « inbox » nous disent que vous nous suivez attentivement, merci ! Le Moyen-Orient, et spécialement la Syrie, ont vraiment besoin de beaucoup de prières et d’une grande solidarité. Nous assistons à une montée continue de la violence, sans devoir ni pouvoir rien faire d’autre qu’appeler de toute notre énergie à la non-violence et à la réconciliation.

C’è parso opportuno di scrivervi a proposito del servizio della riconciliazione che consideriamo come un nostro dovere sacro e come parte essenziale del nostro carisma. Riteniamo di non avere il diritto, nel trattare l’attuale penosa situazione, di adottare dei progetti non evangelici e di distanziarci, per qualunque motivo, dalle scelte morali del nostro Messia, dalle posizioni della sua Madre purissima e dalle tradizioni degli apostoli e dei discepoli nella Chiesa primitiva.
